Monthly workshops for technical intern trainees in care worker occupations

Well International Skills Collaboration Center (Cooperative Association)

Supervising organization Well International Skills Collaboration Center (Cooperative Association) holds monthly workshops to strengthen the Japanese language skills and care skills of technical intern trainees in care worker occupations. The classes include both practical skills and theoretical knowledge, and the instructors responsible for providing new trainee training and practitioner training make a real effort to ensure that the training content will enable the trainees to acquire the Japanese language abilities and care skills that they need in order to implement care provision in Japan. The training curriculum is designed with the goal of enabling trainees to pass the Nursing Care Skills Evaluation Test within six months of assignment, and after passing this test, for them then to reach a level at which they are able to undertake more advanced practitioner training when they are in their third year, after obtaining Technical Intern Training (ii) (completion of second year) status.
The technical intern trainees also have the opportunity to ask the instructors for guidance regarding the career paths that will be open to them after completing technical intern training in 3 or 5 years’ time, and to consult with the instructors about any worries or problems they may have in relation to life in Japan (which is an unfamiliar environment for many of the trainees), or in relation to the technical intern training process.
Number of trainees that have received this training to date: 138 trainees
