*Under the new program framework scheduled to come into effect on November 1, 2017, sending country governments and the government of Japan will conclude Memoranda of Cooperation (MOC) with the aim of eliminating inappropriate sending organizations in cooperation with sending country governments.
*A Memorandum of Cooperation was concluded on July 11, 2017.
According to the Memorandum of Cooperation, screening will commence on September 1, 2017 in accordance with the new accreditation procedures and a complete list of accredited sending organizations will be sent to Japan by February 1, 2018. The Memorandum further provides that it will no longer be possible to accept technical intern trainees from organizations other than accredited sending organizations as of June 1, 2018.
* Sending organizations accredited pursuant to the Memorandum of Cooperation were posted on the Organization for Technical Intern Training website at the end of January 2018.
