Discussions held with the Department of Employment (DOE), Ministry of Labour, Thailand

On August 29, 2016, Mr. Arrug Phrommanee, Director-General of the Department of Employment (DOE), JITCO’s point of contact with Thailand’s Ministry of Labour visited JITCO together with Mrs. Suchada Cheecharoen, the Minister-Counsellor for Labour at the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo and their respective envoys.

During the discussion, Mr. Phrommanee expressed his hope of utilizing the amendments to the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) as an opportunity to significantly boost the number of Thai technical intern trainees dispatched to Japan, due to the high domestic demand for technical intern trainees who have returned to the country after acquiring skills in Japan.

JITCO provided an explanation of the current situation of Thai technical intern trainees, the direction of revision of TITP, etc., and expressed its intention of performing possible support for increasing the number of technical intern trainees from Thailand.

A gathering was held in the afternoon of the same day at the Thai Embassy for sending organizations and supervising organizations, at which JITCO gave an explanation of the proposed amendments to the TITP.
