Delegation from Thailand, Including the Minister of Labour, Visit Japan and Hold Periodic Talks

A delegation from Thailand, including the Minister of Labour, traveled to Japan and held periodic talks on March 23, 2015.
JITCO explained the basic framework of the technical intern training program and provided an overview of changes that will be made (streamlining and enhancement) planned for the review of the program.
The delegation from the Ministry of Labour explained that there are three million foreign workers in Thailand, but demand for even further acceptance of foreign workers may grow in the future as a result of labour shortages, and in light of this, the government is considering investigations of organizations that manage the inflow of foreign nationals and the status of their residency in Thailand. Following, there was a question-and-answer session regarding JITCO’s organization (number of personnel, activity expenses, etc.), execution of records of discussion, relationships with administrative organizations, and other topics.
