Meeting with the Vietnam Government Contact and Holding of Sending Organization Seminar

On the morning of February 15, 2012, a meeting was held with the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB). There was an explanation from JITCO that the number of sending had increased after the joint seminar held in Hanoi in January 2011 and that further measures for run-away were required due to the increased number of sending, and requested to actively take measures for supporting returnees.
DOLAB said that they were wishing to send out 10,000 trainees per year and would like to increase the number of sending, and that they did recognize the importance of supporting returnees.
Also, we made an agreement to hold a joint seminar that had been requested by the Vietnam side within this year in Japan.

After the meeting, we gave a courtesy visit to the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs. JITCO explained about the receiving status from Vietnam in 2011. The Vice Minister mentioned again the goal to send out 10,000 trainees, and he said that the Vietnamese government was preparing specific measures for supporting returnees.

A sending organization seminar was held in Hanoi on February 16. Under the attendance of DOLAB, 145 people from 70 sending organizations participated. It was mentioned in the presentation by the sending organizations that they were working on the measures for run-away.
