On July 8, 2010, JITCO officials held a meeting with Sharda Prasad, Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGET), Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE). Ms. Murai, executive officer from Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Labor and Employment Skill Development Manager Mr. Pant, Head,of Labour, Employment & Skill Development Division from Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), both accredited sending organization, have also attended this meeting.

JITCO gave explanation about the outline of the new Technical Intern Training Program, which became effective on July this year, and reported on the sending situation from India. Also it made a suggestion on revision of the record of discussion (R/D) for cooperative relation with DGET.

In response, there were some questions from DGET concerning the cost for sending, the requirement for technical intern trainees, and which field is highly demanded for acceptance. Also it stated that they will consider about of the accredited sending organizations and about conclusion of R/D with JITCO inside DGET. In addition, there was statement that they would like to enhance cooperation with JITCO, because, since conclusion of R/D in 1996, there has been no track record of sending under the acceptance supervised by organization, contrary to acceptance managed by individual enterprise, and also because Prime Minister Singh is interested in skills development.
