On February 13, with support from JITCO, the Embassy of Pakistan in Japan held the first “Seminar on Technical Training Program” (Pakistan Human Talent Forum), following on from the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Regarding Technical Intern Training and Specified Skilled Workers between the government of Japan and the government of Pakistan. The forum was attended by a total of around 60 people, including representatives of business enterprises and supervising organizations, as well as related parties from Pakistan.
The forum began with a welcoming address by the Pakistani Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Imtiaz Ahmad, in which he noted that Pakistan has an impressive track record of sending large numbers of young workers overseas, and expressed the hope that the receiving of technical intern trainees in Japan would also be a success. Two accredited sending organizations – the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and National University of Technology (NUTECH) – gave presentations that covered every aspect of sending operations, and Pakistani trainees currently undergoing training in Japan under the Acceptance Supervised by Organization model gave speeches in Japanese.
