New R/D Agreement Signed and Consultations Held with Pakistan Government Contact Organization

On August 28, 2019, JITCO engaged in consultations with Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MOFEPT) in the capital city of Islamabad, and signed a new Record of Discussions (R/D).
During the consultations, MOFEPT expressed a very positive attitude towards future human resources development and the dispatching of technical intern trainees, etc.

There are currently two sending organizations in Pakistan: the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), which is directly supervised by the Pakistan government, and the National University of Technology (NUTECH). Regarding the accreditation of private-sector sending organizations, a statement was made to the effect that more time would be needed to arrange this, in order ensure the quality of the technical intern trainees sent to Japan and to ensure that appropriate system design was properly implemented.

The JITCO delegation visited the two approved sending organizations referred to above. The delegation found that NAVTTC has been undertaking research and preparatory work on frameworks for promoting the smooth recruitment of Pakistani human talent, utilizing a Job Portal IT system with the aim of matching employers with registered job-seekers, while NUTECH has been working enthusiastically to provide practical, hands-on training in the machinery and metallurgy sector and in automotive components manufacturing, etc.

  • The signing of the new R/D (Pakistan’s Minister of Labor is in the center)
  • Consultations with MOFEPT
