Discussions Held with Indonesian Government Liaison

On March 12, JITCO held discussions at the Embassy of Indonesia-Tokyo with Mr. Tatang Razak, Secretary General of the National Agency for the Protection and Placement of International Migrant Workers, Republic of Indonesia, who was visiting Japan, and Ms. Retno Supeni, Minister Counsellor of Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Indonesia-Tokyo. Mr. Razak explained the current status of and challenges for the future regarding the sending of overseas workers from Indonesia. JITCO explained the current status of the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) and gave an overview of the new status of residence of “specified skilled worker.” The two sides then had an exchange of opinions.

Following this meeting, on March 14 and 15, the Indonesia Businesses Association in Japan (APIJ), KYODAI Remittance (UNIDOS Co., Ltd.), and the Indonesia Association of Technical Internship Abroad Program Providers (AP2LN) each hosted Indonesian human resources seminars, in which the Embassy of Indonesia-Tokyo, JITCO, and other organizations participated. Around 140 people participated from the Japanese side and developed relations through workshops and business matching with Indonesian sending organizations.
