Discussions held with the Sino-Japan Trainee Cooperation Organization of China (SJTCOC)
On March 22, 2016, JITCO paid a courtesy call to the Sino-Japan Trainee Cooperation Organization of China (hereinafter “SJTCOC”), which is the liaison for the Chinese government, and engaged in regular discussions.
In addition to making a formal address to the SJTCOC’s chairman, Mr. Fang Qiu Chen, who was newly appointed last autumn, JITCO provided the latest information regarding review of the draft for revisions to the Technical Intern Training Program, and expressed its intention to respond to various movements in accordance with revision of the program whilst continuing to maintain a solid relationship with the SJTCOC.
The SJTCOC expressed its gratitude to JITCO for providing the latest information regarding review of the program and expressed its wish to further strengthen its cooperative relationship with JITCO. Moreover, issues were identified such as trends for the number of Chinese technical intern trainees dispatched, sending procedures and treatment of technical intern trainees, and concrete opinions were exchanged.
Prior to holding discussions with the SJTCOC, JITCO also visited China’s Ministry of Commerce, which oversees the SJTCOC, and reported movements of the program’s revision proposal and JITCO’s future activities, to which the Ministry of Commerce expressed their intention of supporting JITCO and the SJTCOC so that the two organizations may proactively interact and advance programs.
