Meeting of Families in Viet Nam

November 2009
The IMO New Business Development Cooperative

On November 1, 2009 (Sunday), the IMO New Business Development Cooperative (IMO) held a meeting for the families of trainees and technical interns in Viet Nam.  The meeting, attended by more than 200 family members, was made possible in cooperation with sending organizations.  The main purpose of this gathering was to prevent the runaway incidents of our trainees and technical interns in Japan.

IMO requested the following: 1) Families explain and warn to trainees and interns about the risks associated with absconding; 2) Families get involved in the three years of training and internship, helping trainees and interns stay focused on acquiring skills and techniques, deal with experience in Japanese companies, and learn the language.

Through the three-hour session, we hope participants understood that one moment's impulse, such as running away from training, can destroy all of the trainees' and interns' efforts, experiences, and skills they so diligently accumulate in Japan.

The first generation of technical interns of IMO will complete their three-year program in May 2010 and return home.  We hope these technical interns learn as much as they can from the rest of their days in Japan, and contribute to the development of Viet Nam by working for and giving back to the businesses and industries at home.
