The Nagoya Chinese New Year Festival was held in Hisaya Square in Nagoya City's Naka Ward for three days from 16th to 18th, January 2009.

This was the third time for the event. As it gets more widely known, more people look forward to it.

The Chinese New Year is the biggest celebration in China. The Nagoya Chinese New Year Festival intends to facilitate friendly cultural exchange with Chinese residents in Nagoya who are working hard away from home. Participants enjoy the aromas, flavors, culture, and traditions of China.

There was a variety of stalls offering Chinese food, travel information, traded goods and crafts on the venue while songs, dances, traditional instruments, the lion dance, and the dragon dance were joyfully performed on the temporary stage.

Trainees and interns from our cooperative have participated in this event since it was held for the first time. Along with staff from accepting companies and also Japanese instructors, representatives from sending organizations in Shandong province came to cheer trainees and interns performing at the festival. Being well supported, the trainees and interns demonstrated the best of their practices and entertained the audience.

Trainees and Interns were well-received at the festival, being asked for pictures everywhere. It was a valuable experience for them to mingle with local residents.
