
On the morning of October 11, JITCO officials visited the Ministry of Labour in Thailand and held an annual meeting with the Department of Employment (DOE). JITCO officials gave an overview of new regulations, and the DOE expressed pleasure that, under the revised regulations, trainees would receive appropriate protections as technical intern trainees. In the afternoon, JITCO officials paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Labour in Thailand. The Minister expressed gratitude towards JITCO's cooperation and also expressed a desire for continuing cooperation in teaching trainees about the Japanese language and lifestyle.
On the morning of October 12, JITCO, with the cooperation of the DOE, held a seminar for sending organizations attended by about 35 representatives of accredited sending organizations and other organizations. At this seminar, JITCO gave an overview of revised regulations and explained paperwork and other preparations that must be undertaken by the sending organizations. The seminar also included a question-and-answer session for the participants.
