Annual Meeting with MVTT (Center: Minister Gamage)

  1. Current number of trainees/interns dispatched from Sri Lanka
JITCO pointed out that the number of trainees accepted from Sri Lanka has been falling recently and the certified organizations of VTA and NAITA have almost no record of dipatching trainees and requested to strengthen the functionality.

  2. 2. Strengthening of sending capability
In response, MSVT admitted that the organization was not well-established until the administration shifted last year and it declared that it will strive to improve the functionality. ITCO introduced successful cases of trainees dispatched from the Chamber of Commerce, an uncertified sending organization, and advised MSVT to establish link with business leaders and requested the Minister to negotiate with Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka as necessary.
