Annual Meeting with Nepal officials


Japan International Training Cooperation Organization

On September 13, 2007, JITCO officials organized an annual meeting with Nepal's Shyam Prasad Mainali, Acting Secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Transport Management (MoLTM), and other related officials.

JITCO mentioned that no trainees have been sent from MoLTM-certified organizations, and further expanded on the intention and overview of the Industrial Training Program. The explanation emphasized the role of sending organizations, dispatch processes, and the importance of fraud prevention. In response, MoLTM reported that when the record of discussion with JITCO was concluded in 2003, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) was designated as a sending organization; however, that attempt failed to proceed. MoLTM expressed that, with renewed understanding of the training program, the organization would reconstruct the desptach scheme including the possibility of certifying sending organizations other than the FNCCI.
