Annual Meeting with Governmental Organization and the Seminar for Sending Organizations

On May 24, 2010, JITCO officials held an annual meeting with the representatives of the Myanmarese Department of Labor (DOL). JITCO reported on frequently occurring absconding to seek refugee status. DOL stated that they will make improvements in sending environment and made a suggestion on sending employees from governmental enterprise to prevent abscondence. Also, there were some questions from DOL about new system such as a method for conclusion of a contract and cost burden.

On the following day, the seminar for sending organizations was held. Under the cooperation between DOL, 39 organizations, 47 guests participated the seminar, including the accredited sending organizations. JITCO gave explanation about the outline of the new system, and there were some questions from sending organizations and DOL concerning the requirement of sending, cost burden, etc.
