On April 24, 2006, JITCO held a Annual Meeting with Director General Mr. Besar Setyoko from Department of Training and Productivity Development, Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (MOM&T), Indonesia to exchange information mainly on the measures to: 1) strengthen the functioning of the certified sending organizations, 2) solve run-away trainee problem, and 3) provide support for returnees.
- JITCO indicated that there are only about 400 trainees dispatched to Japan from MOM&T-certified sending organizations annually and MOM&T must pay efforts to strengthen sending organizations to increase the number. Also, JITCO advised that the sending organizations must appeal to accepting organizations in Japan by establishing links with business leaders to recruit candidates with appropriate capabilities and assigning staffs with Japanese communication skills.
- Director General Mr. Besar Setyoko commented that he will focus on strengthening the functionality of sending organizations in Indonesia and reported in addition to existing 22 organizations, new sending organizations will be certified.
- JITCO will pay close attention to MOM&T's activities and will consider hosting a seminar for sending organizations in Indonesia and a joint seminar in Japan.
After the discussion, JITCO delegation paid a courtesy call on Indonesian Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, Mr. Erman Suparno.
