Seminar Regarding Revised Training and Internship Program
On October 29, 2009, JITCO held a seminar at Xibei Hotel in Xian, China, regarding the revised Industrial Training and Technical Internship Program. The seminar was intended for sending organizations accredited by the Sino-Japan Trainee Cooperation Organization of China (SJTCOC).
Approximately 350 attendees from 230 accredited sending organizations and supervisors from local labor dispatch bases filled the venue. The seminar began with greetings from both the JITCO Executive Vice President and the SJTCOC Vice Chairman, followed by a briefing on the present state of the training and internship program by the General Manager of JITCO International Affairs Department. The General Manager of JITCO Immigration Department provided an overview on program revisions in accordance with the amended Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, which was promulgated on July 15, this year, as well as on relevant ministerial ordinances and guidelines currently in preparation. At the end of the seminar, a lively Q&A session was conducted, which indicated participating sending organizations' much interest in the program revisions. JITCO held a meeting with SJTCOC after the session. Both organizations agreed to continue working on strengthening their cooperative relationship through the program revision processes.
Recently, SJTCOC has accredited 38 more sending organizations, with affiliates now totaling 241. The names of newly certified sending organizations will be listed on the JITCO homepage under "China: Sending Organizations".
