The 14th Japanese Essay Contest Award Ceremony
October 2006The Japanese Essay Contest Award Ceremony for international trainees and technical interns was held on October 14th, 2006, and was part of JITCO's International Convention program. The contest was organized as a way to support general language learning for trainees and technical interns, and it also provided a place for everyone to express their thoughts and feelings whilst on the program. 3092 essays in total were submitted for the contest.
Certificates for prizes were given at the award ceremony to the trainees and technical interns who had gone through a strict review process. Winners for outstanding achievement presented their own work in front of the huge audience, who listened enthusiastically. The award winners' candid presentations detailed their will to help in their home countries economic progress, their ties with their distant family members, and their lives in another country.

JITCO compiled sixty-two selected works, including the winners above, and distributed the Compilation of Outstanding Works to all applicants and supporting members. Outstanding Achievement and Awards of Excellence can be found through this link. We hope you enjoy reading them!
Applications for this year began around April 2007. Please refer to our newsletter 'Kakehashi' and/or our webpage bulletin for information on the 15th Annual Japanese Essay Contest. We are looking forward to receiving enthusiastic submissions from the trainees and technical interns!
